|ANOTHER CHANCE TO GET TOGETHER
. Join Professors Jim Strombotne, Conrad Rudolph, Dericksen Brinkerhoff and others for another chance to renew old friendships and make new ones.
Many attending the October 19-21, 2001 Art and Art History Alumni Reunion asked, "When can we do this again?"
Homecoming weekend, February 1 3 provides a welcome opportunity. From 4:30 6:30 pm on February 2, all those returning for Homecoming 2002 are invited to help celebrate the new Arts Building -- which will be opened especially for the occasion -- and lift a glass in celebration of the past, present and future of UCRs Art and Art History programs.
All students who are taking or have taken any art or art history classes are invited. A number of faculty members, past and present, will greet you. The event will be held rain or shine, as a broad covered corridor gives shelter, as well as a spectacular view of the Box Springs Mountains with its big "C."
This get-together will be held in the Art History Class Lab located in Room 333 on the Third Floor of the Arts Building. Signs will direct you to this location once you have entered the Arts Building.
While you are on campus, you may want to take in the exhibitions at the Sweeney Art Gallery in Watkins House across the street. Homecoming hours are 11am 4:30pm Friday, Feb 1st; 12 4pm Saturday and Sunday, Feb 2nd and 3rd.
Featured exhibitions include Animate Objects: Works by David & Lizzie Zucker Saltz, and Projects 2002: Kristina Faragher. Additional exhibition information can be found on the Gallery website at www.sweeney.ucr.edu
If you would like to join us for our Homecoming get-together, please contact Phyllis Gill in the Art Department at 951-827-2676. This event is free of charge.
